Studio Membership:

time + space is an experiment in arts infrastructure in Los Angeles - a new framework for artists to show works in progress. time + space is an intimate, community-driven studio offering the following opportunities:

  • studio space - 12 hours per month: work privately or share work with invited guests

  • 4 shows per year: ticketed or open; 100% of ticket sales to artists

  • teaching opportunity: hold classes or workshops; earn money for paid classes

  • residency opportunity: monthly lottery for 24 studio hrs and an evening performance

  • free classes & workshops

  • community events: salons, labs, artist talks

  • open studio hours: admin, writing, informal sharing & collaboration 

  • peer observation: observe fellow members’ studio work 

$150 / month

  1. A maximum of 20 active members to ensure consistent access.

  2. Six month terms, renewable upon review and space availability. One month trial for new members.

  3. A transparent scheduling system to equitably book studio time.

  4. Members propose and lead programs: workshops, labs, salons, peer reviews and off-sites.

  5. A monthly residency program, drawn from the membership, provides 24 hours studio time and a private or public showing.

  6. No membership tiers. All members have the same rights, perks, responsibilities.
