clearing scores is a free, movement workshop for dancers. kirsten michelle schnittker guides participants in clearing scores -- their relational and shared practice of creating improvised dances from past and present, prioritizing solo investigation and self-recognition through being witnessed and witnessing each other. beginning with a somatic listening practice and building into interlocking and iterative improvisational scores, participants practice intuitive choice-making and finding a liberated presence.

*August 7 will be open to the public to witness. Participants must attend one other workshop to participate in the August 7 open studio / workshop performance. You will have a chance to confirm your participation on August 7 when you attend your first workshop.

Bio:
Kirsten Michelle Schnittker is a dancer, performer, arts worker, and a practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education. Kirsten's work has been performed in Los Angeles, New York City, and Zurich, Switzerland. As a collaborative performer, Kirsten has most recently worked with Laura Bartczak, Yanira Castro/a canary torsi, Diana Crum, Micheal Portnoy, Hadley Smith, Sam Wentz, and Darrian O’Reilly In 2024, they were honored to perform Joan Jonas’ Mirror Piece I & II at The Getty Museum. www.kirstenschnittker.com / @somatic_autumn
